Training:

Dr Judd Charles Allen grew up in Bountiful, Utah. He graduated from Brigham Young University and attended medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Oklahoma Orthopedic surgery.  He then completed TWO subspecialty fellowships.  First, at Lake Tahoe Sports Medicine Fellowship specializing in adult ACL repair.  Then, a second fellowship specializing in pediatric ACL repairs was completed at Harvard’s Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Adult

Dr Allen has performed orthopedic procedures for adult athletes from the US Ski Team, professional athletes, and several college football and hockey teams.  Surgical consultations at our Saratoga Springs and Lehi clinics focus on personalized choices in graft selection, technique, and the role of augmentation.  Dr Allen can work on specific rehab programs with you physical therapist of choice, or he can make recommendations for a qualified professional near your home.

Pediatric

Dr Allen us Utah County’s only dual fellowship arthroscopic surgeon specializing in pediatric ACL replacement.  His unique training with Dr Kocher and Dr Micheli has brought cutting edge treatments for pediatric athletes that still have open growth plates and require ACL replacement.  Dr Allen was the first in the State of Utah to provide and perform the new Iliotibial Band (ITB) ACL repair.  Using a pediatric trained surgeon like Dr Allen for pediatric patients is essential in minimizing  damage to growth plates and longer term growth disturbances.
